How to Park a Domain in cPanel

Parking a domain points a second domain at your existing website — useful for owning multiple TLDs of your brand or catching misspellings.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Domains → Domains (or Aliases) in cPanel.
  2. Click Create a New Domain and enter the domain to park.
  3. Tick "Share document root" so it shows your existing main site rather than getting its own folder.
  4. Submit to create the alias.
  5. Point the parked domain's DNS at your EconomicalHost hosting (nameservers or A record) — see pointing a domain.
  6. Consider a redirect instead of mirroring for SEO — see domain aliases and redirects.

💡 Good to know

  • For SEO, one canonical domain with a 301 redirect beats two identical mirrored sites.
  • Parked domains share everything with the main site — no separate content.
  • AutoSSL covers active parked domains automatically.
