How to Import Contacts into Roundcube

Moving to a new mailbox or webmail? Import your existing contacts from a CSV or vCard file so your address book comes with you.

Step-by-step

  1. Export contacts from your old client as a CSV or vCard (.vcf) file — most mail apps offer this.
  2. Log in to webmail and open the Contacts (Address Book) section.
  3. Click the Import icon.
  4. Choose your CSV or vCard file and select the destination group if offered.
  5. Click Import. Roundcube reports how many contacts were added.
  6. Review the address book to confirm names and addresses imported correctly.

💡 Good to know

  • vCard (.vcf) usually preserves more fields than CSV — prefer it if available.
  • You can export from Roundcube the same way to back up your contacts.
  • Clean duplicates after importing if you merged several sources.
