How to Change Your Nameservers

Nameservers decide who controls your domain's DNS. Pointing them at your hosting lets cPanel manage all your records automatically.

Step-by-step

  1. Get the correct nameservers from your EconomicalHost welcome email (e.g. ns1./ns2.).
  2. Log in to your domain registrar — where you bought or manage the domain.
  3. Find the Nameservers / DNS settings for the domain.
  4. Replace the existing nameservers with the EconomicalHost ones and save.
  5. Wait for propagation — nameserver changes can take a few hours to a day worldwide (see propagation).
  6. Confirm by loading your site and checking mail; cPanel's Zone Editor now controls your records.

💡 Good to know

  • Changing nameservers moves ALL DNS (web and mail) to the new host — recreate any custom records there.
  • If your domain is registered with EconomicalHost, support can set the nameservers for you.
  • Lower disruption by confirming your cPanel has the matching domain and email set up first.
