How to Create a Subdomain in cPanel
Subdomains (blog.yourdomain.com, app.yourdomain.com) act like separate websites under your main domain — and they are free and unlimited on EconomicalHost plans.
Step-by-step
- Open Domains → Domains in cPanel and click Create a New Domain.
- Enter the full subdomain — e.g. blog.yourdomain.com.
- Leave "Share document root" unticked so the subdomain gets its own folder (e.g. public_html/blog.yourdomain.com).
- Click Submit. DNS for the subdomain is created automatically when your DNS is hosted with EconomicalHost.
- Upload content to the subdomain's folder via File Manager or FTP.
- Wait for AutoSSL — a free SSL certificate covering the new subdomain is issued automatically, usually within the hour.
💡 Good to know
- Common uses: blog., shop., staging. (a test copy of your site), and app.
- A subdomain does not consume a "website" slot on most plan definitions — websites are counted by added domains; confirm with support if unsure.
- Remove unused subdomains from the same Domains screen to keep DNS tidy.
